Replacing and Installing Switches, Outlets, and Dimmers

We have been replacing and installing switches, outlets and dimmers for years at Randy’s Electric, so if you need these types of services you don’t need to look any farther. If you need new wiring for the increasing power demands of new appliances in your older home or you want to reduce the risk of fire due to rotten or dried out wires, give us a call and we’ll take care of whatever needs you may have.

Switch, Outlet and Dimmer Replacement and Installation Services

We can take care of all your needs without costly and extensive work. We can install floor outlets underneath your wood floors, reducing the risk of tripping over unsightly extension cords. If you have new appliances or a new home entertainment system, we can install direct lines to prevent tripped breakers and also save energy.

Signs Your Switch Plates and Outlets Need to be Replaced

If you notice any of these warning signs, you should seriously consider replacing your switch plates or old outlets:

  • The outlet is warm or hot to the touch.
  • You have missing, cracked or broken cover plates.
  • You have a teardrop-shaped outlet.

At Randy’s Electric, our licensed electricians will get whatever job you need done quickly and safely, and we will make sure your home complies with all local electrical codes.

Increasing the Safety of Your Electrical Outlets

You want your children to be as safe as possible in your home, of course, and one of the best ways of doing that is changing your electrical outlets. In order to make sure your children are protected from electrocution and/or shock, follow these simple and effective steps:

  • Call Randy’s Electric to inspect your outlets, especially if you have an older home. One of the best things you can do to increase household safety is by upgrading your outlets, as well as their wiring at the electrical panel.
  • Use outlet covers to cover any empty electrical outlets. Children may try and insert something they shouldn’t in an uncovered outlet, and that could lead to an electrical shock. Plastic placeholders can childproof your outlets and be easily removed when you need to use them.
  • Make sure all electrical cords are secured and out of the reach of children. In many instances, a child has been hurt because he or she saw a cord as a plaything, or worse, something to chew on. Buy cord keepers to stow away any excess slack.

If you would like to learn more about how to make your home as safe as possible for your children, or to schedule an appointment for switch, outlet and dimmer service, give us a call at Randy’s Electric.
